The Squirrel Project Donation Drop-off #1
On our mom's birthday, June 24, 2023 we dropped off your generous donations from our June 11th event to The Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) in Romeo, MI. We were happy to present them with $500 along with paper towel, food, toys, and several other gifts that were brought to our event at Dodge Park. They were thrilled and very grateful! Ms. Kelley expressed that monetary donation alone would cover food for all the animals at their sanctuary for a week.
The Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) consists of 100 wonderful volunteers who are dedicated to help all animals in need. Although based in Romeo, Michigan we reach out to communities like Detroit to help neglected, sick, and homeless animals. We have a beautiful 25 acre farm with a dog kennel, heated barn for farm animals and many enclosures for wildlife rehabilitation. (https://dawghous.com/about-us, 2023)
Please take a moment and visit the DAWG website to discover their mission and share the word! Whether it is an orphaned racoon, neglected farm animal, or a homeless or sick pet, they are their angels in disguise. They operate on donations alone and we were so honored to help this year!
We cannot thank you all enough for helping us make our first Kid's Committee event a success! More updates to come as we surprise the Humane Society of Macomb with their donation! Stay tuned for pics! πΈβ€
